A new comedy drama set in the world of modern policing? Sign us in! Especially now when we know that Danny Boyle, man who stands behind titles like “Slumdog Millionaire” and “Shallow Grave” is on board to direct Babylon, the pilot for Channel 4.
And here's another great news – Boyle will direct the whole thing from a script written by BAFTA winners Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong (the duo behind an award-winning British sitcom “Peep Show”).
So, the drama set in the world of modern policing. That's unfortunately all we know about the project at this moment. The only thing we could add is that Channel 4 boss Jay Hunt said that work on Babylon would start this year, it will be shown next year and could be followed by a full series.
Anyway, until something new about Babylon arrives, let us also mention that folks from Channel 4 also announced they would be showing “The Maudsley”, a four-part documentary series on the south London hospital which specialises in treating patients with mental health problems.
In addition to “The Maudsley” Channel 4 will also broadcast “Indian Summers”, a ten-part epic drama series set in 1932 and based around the Himalayan town of Simla, a summer refuge for British colonialists.
Make sure you stay tuned for more updates, we're definitely interested in all these projects!
