DD pitch was tremendous and everyone flipped for it. The clock ticked down at Fox, that's why it went tits up.It is still possible that Carnahan will get the chance to make his Matt Murdock, a blind attorney turned costumed crime-fighter at Disney, but it will be Marvel head Kevin Feige's decision. Whatever happened DD now has quite a wait. On the other hand, Fox is going to let the Daredevil rights lapse and just focus on rebooting Fantastic Four and X-Men/Wolverine movies. Here are two versions of the Daredevil pitch, in Carnahan's words, the NC-17 version and the PG-13 version Source: Variety
DAREDEVIL Returning to Marvel
Back in April, we wrote that 20th Century Fox brought on newcomer David James Kelly to replace Fringe writer Brad Caleb Kane and to do a rewrite.
However, we wrote recently that Fox have just over two months to start production on their Untitled Daredevil Reboot, before the rights revert back to Marvel Studios. Therefore, Marvel and Fox have been discussing a deal that would give Fox an extension on the October 10th deadline, in exchange for the rights to certain characters from the Fantastic Four world, such as the villain Galactus and The Silver Surfer. Joe Carnahan (The Grey) was reportedly in talks to direct DD reboot.
Yesterday we got word that Carnahan revealed that his pitch for a ‘Serpico' styled' take on Daredevil ‘went up in smoke.'
