20th Century Fox has just released the first official posters for
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and has also announced that the first full theatrical trailer for the sequel to the surprise success
Rise of the Planet of the Apes will be released on Wednesday, December 18th at 6 AM PST.
Director
Matt Reeves has said of the film:
We’ll see how Caesar becomes this leader. The apes’ story is a through-the-looking-glass way of looking at what we are. By what’s going on in the internal lives of the apes we are exploring ourselves, our impulses, our society. So much is roiling inside [him]. He has a rational side separate from the apes – they’re all instinct.
These posters features Caesar (played by
Andy Serkis) wearing war paint along with his compatriots.
The film, being directed from a screenplay written by
Mark Bomback, Scott Z. Burns, Rick Jaffa and
Amanda Silver, also stars J
ason Clarke, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Judy Greer, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and
Toby Kebbell.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes climbs into theaters July 11th, 2014.
