Howard J. and Jonathan Ford, aka the Ford Brothers, the British director/writer/producer team behind the acclaimed African-set zombie shocker The Dead, are now in post-production on The Dead 2: India, the first zombie film shot in India.
A new trailer for The Dead 2 recently premiered and it looks like the sequel is continuing the gritty action style begun in the original along with grisly zombie siege scenes, which is fine by me.
Howard J. Ford promises,
We have upped our game immensely in scale and adrenaline fuelled action sequences with some terrifying situations in locations never seen before in the genre. Strap in, and get ready for the epic journey.
The sequel reportedly follows the story of American engineer Nicholas Burton (Joseph Millson) in a race against time to reach his pregnant girlfriend Ishani Sharma (Meenu Karthika). Burton enlists the help of an orphan street kid Javed (Anand Goyal) and together they make a perilous 300 mile journey across deadly landscapes as a zombie apocalypse threatens to engulf the entire nation.
The Dead 2 has been filmed in five weeks, in locations across India, including Rajasthan, Delhi and Mumbai.
