DreamWorks Pictures has acquired rights to the Japanese manga Ghost in the Shell with plans to adapt the futuristic police thriller as a 3-D live-action feature. Avi Arad, Ari Arad and Steven Paul of Seaside Entertainment are attached to produce and brought the project to the studio. Laeta Kalogridis who writes for the DreamWorks live adaptation was the executive prducer of James Cameron’s Avatar. Hopefully, she will be able to produce a great screenplay. Ghost in the Shell deserves the greatest live action adaptation Hollywood ever made.
