The whole thing is actually inspired by true-life tales of author
Matt Bondurant's family in his novel
The Wettest County in the World, where the loyalty of three brothers is put to the test against the backdrop of the nation's most notorious crime wave.
Nick Cave is responsible for the script, and what I definitely love about the movie description so far is that this is actually the story of the rural hard-men that created the big city gangsters. And that, my friends, is what you just have to love about the well-known
American dream…
Beside Oldman, the rest of the Lawless cast includes
Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Guy Pearce, Dane DeHaan and
Mia Wasikowska.
Lawless is set to open on August 29th, 2012.
