The Gorge, an Apple Original Film directed by Sinister's Scott Derrickson, has revealed its first images and a teaser poster, stirring excitement for its 2025 release. Featuring the talents of Miles Teller, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Sigourney Weaver, this movie promises to blend a rich array of genres, including romance, sci-fi, action, and horror.

The teaser poster sets the mood, ominously stating: “They're not keeping you out. They're keeping them in.” It hints at a gripping narrative where Teller and Taylor-Joy's characters, isolated from a lurking unseen enemy, must defend themselves against a cataclysmic threat to humanity. This danger is tied to the mysterious gorge, a key element in the plot.

The Gorge appears to have a character-driven core, focusing on the evolving bond between its two leads before thrusting them into a survival scenario. Derrickson's background in horror (Sinister, The Black Phone) suggests we'll get some truly intense and unpredictable scenes. According to Derrickson, the film took significant time to flesh out the backstories of the two characters, which could provide emotional depth in the face of the film's external threats.

The film's screenplay, penned by Zach Dean (The Tomorrow War), is brought to life by an experienced production team, including David Ellison and Dana Goldberg. Set to debut on Apple TV+ in 2025, this is one movie sci-fi and thriller fans will not want to miss.

The Gorge promises a unique blend of genres, and the early images and tagline already set an eerie tone. Scott Derrickson's direction suggests we'll see both tension and emotional stakes. The cast alone makes this a film worth keeping an eye on!
