Would you like to taste a great
The Master vintage with a blend of 1950? Not sure if you share in our excitement, but we've been waiting a long time for this occasion. This fall
Paul Thomas Anderson will be releasing The Master, a new film starring
Philip Seymour Hoffman,
Joaquin Phoenix and
Amy Adams that is said to be about Scientology.
Speculations that L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology were the inspirations have not been confirmed by either Anderson or the cast. However, it's his first since the Best Picture-nominated There Will Be Blood in 2007. Now it's got a poster that shows off the bottle of The Master being submerged into the white wine.
It is closely associated with all the footage from the
trailers of Freddie Quell (named Freddie Sutton in the script), a mysterious character Phoenix plays, a drunken Naval officer, who becomes a part of Lancaster Dodd's (Hoffman) religious organization called ‘The Cause' as a result of painful war experiences. Adams plays Dodd's wife Mary Sue (Hubard's third wife was also named Mary Sue).
The Master co-star
Jesse Plemons, David Warshofsky and
Rami Malek, and is scheduled to hit theaters on September 14th, 2012.
