New FRUITVALE STATION Poster: Every Step Brings You Closer To The Edge

FRUITVALE STATION A brand new poster for the upcoming Fruitvale Station movie has arrived just in time to remind us that Ryan Coogler‘s highly-acclaimed drama (with an awesome cast on board!) is set to hit limited theaters this July! Nothing spectacular? Just another look at Michael B. Jordan? Maybe. But this guy wants us to get angry, to get upset, to look at each other and say: damn are we treating each other like that? Written and directed by Ryan Coogler, this indie drama is based on the true story of Oscar Grant, a young man who was killed by police officer Johannes Mehserle at the Oakland, California Fruitvale rapid transit station. In other words, the film tells the story of Oscar Grant, a 22-year-old resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, and his experiences on the last day of his life, before he was fatally shot in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day 2009. Or, if you prefer more details:
Oscar Grant, a 22-year-old Bay Area resident wakes up on the morning of December 31, 2008 and feels something in the air. Not sure what it is, he takes it as a sign to get a head start on his resolutions: being a better son to his mother, whose birthday falls on New Year’s Eve, being a better partner to his girlfriend Sophina, who he hasn’t been completely honest with as of late, and being a better father to Tatiana, their four year-old daughter. Crossing paths with friends, family, and strangers, Oscar starts out well, but as the day goes on, he realizes that change is not going to come easily. His resolve takes a tragic turn, however, when BART officers shoot him in cold blood at the Fruitvale subway stop on New Year’s Day…
Beside Michael B. Jordan who stars as Oscar, the rest of Fruitvale Station cast includes Octavia Spencer, Melonie Diaz, Ahna O’Reilly, Kevin Durand, Chad Michael Murray, and as we said – the movie is set to hit limited theaters on July 12th, 2013. As usual – click on the poster to enlarge & in case you’ve missed the official trailer for the whole thing, now is the perfect moment to check it out. FRUITVALE STATION Poster
