Pixar fans, rejoice! The final trailer for “Inside Out 2” has arrived, bringing with it a thrilling mix of familiar faces and exciting new emotions. Set to release on June 14, 2024, this sequel promises to delve deeper into the mind of now 13-year-old Riley, introducing new emotional characters that promise to make us laugh, cry, and everything in between.

The original “Inside Out” captivated audiences with its imaginative take on the personified emotions residing in young Riley's mind. Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, with executive production by Pete Docter, Jonas Rivera, and Dan Scanlon, the sequel aims to answer the tantalizing question left by Joy at the end of the first movie: “After all, Riley's 12 now. What could happen?”

In the latest trailer, we see Riley's emotional headquarters undergoing significant changes to accommodate a new lineup of emotions. Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Tony Hale), and Disgust (Liza Lapira) are joined by new characters such as Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos), and Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser). Notably, June Squibb voices the aptly named Nostalgia, adding a heartwarming touch to the ensemble.

The introduction of these new emotions hints at the complex emotional landscape of adolescence. The film's creative team has made some intriguing choices, relegating emotions like Shame, Guilt, Jealousy, and Schadenfreude to the Memory Dump, ensuring a focused narrative on the more immediate emotional challenges Riley faces as a teenager.

Reflecting on the impact of the original film, Mann shared, “[Inside Out] was everything I love about movies, especially here at Pixar. It was fun, it was imaginative and it made a meaningful impact on the world.” The sequel appears poised to continue this legacy, combining imaginative storytelling with emotional depth.

Inside Out 2's creative lineup, including the same team that brought us “Toy Story 4,” “Monsters, Inc.,” “Up,” “Soul,” and “Turning Red,” ensures high expectations for this sequel. With a mix of humor, heartfelt moments, and the stellar animation Pixar is known for, “Inside Out 2” is shaping up to be the feel-everything movie of the summer.
