Ryan Andrews‘ cannibal thriller
Elfie Hopkins and the Gammons.
Elfie Hopkins and the Gammons might sound like a new animated adventure for under the 12's. This is just so wrong. Hot chick, cannibals, blood, fighting, violence, and flipping Beowulf himself, do you really need more to get you excited. Jamie will play the title role, a quirky wannabe detective investigating the Gammons, a weird new family who make move into the village. Ray will play the local butcher. This is the first time both actors have worked together.
Speaking about the role Jaime has said:
Elfie Hopkins has been an alter ego of mine for a while now and I can't wait for the world to meet her. She'll kick ass! For me, Elfie's a dream role to play and I feel there is a gap in the British film industry which we will more then fill! I can't wait to work with Ryan Andrews – he is a young and exciting director with a vision that can match my imagination.”
Producer Jonathan Sothcott added:
We're delighted to be bringing Jaime and Ray Winstone together in a movie for the first time. They are both utterly compelling screen actors and we have a script worthy of their combined talents. I know Jaime will make Elfie an instant cult icon and in Ryan Andrews I have a director I think will be seen as a British Tim Burton.”
Aneurin Barnard (“Spring Awakening”) and
Kimberley Nixon (“Cherrybomb”) are co-starring, together with Gwyneth Keyworth, Amanda Drew and Will Payne. The film is written and directed by Ryan Andrews who also acts as co-producer. A twisted tale of cannibalism is set to begin shooting from 8 March in and around the Cardiff, Wales area.
One more interesting thing about this movie is that Independent studio Vertigo Films is producing the UK's first foray into 3D horror movie.
