THR reports that Summit Entertainment is going to be bringing Erin Morgenstern's 2011 best seller novel,
The Night Circus, to the big screen.
Therefore,
Moira Buffini has been hired to adapt the supernatural story, set in Victorian times, about a mysterious and fantastical circus and its two dueling magicians, who are engaged in a generation's old feud where their competition and romances play out.
Buffini has experience with adapting novels as she penned last year's big screen adaptation of celebrated Charlotte Bronte novel Jane Eyre for Cary Fukunaga, starring Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender. She was also hired to write Byzantium for Neil Jordan, which stars Saorise Ronan and Gemma Arterton.
The source reports that Buffini is already hard at work on the book adaptation as Summit has acquired the rights back in January of 2011.
