Well, it’s official now – guys from Lifetime really plan to give us that Clarice project after all! You know, it’s going to be a drama based on the Clarice Starling character that earned Jodie Foster an Academy Award for best actress (the 1991 horror thriller The SiJodie Foster as Clarice Starlinglence of the Lambs).
If anyone asks – I have nothing against this “exclusive” news, I’m actually a huge fan of FBI female agents.
So, according to TV Guide, the upcoming show will follow the titular character right after she graduates from the FBI academy.
Clarice grew up in West Virginia until she was 10, when her father, a police officer, was shot and killed. Then she moves to her uncle’s farm in Montana, but later runs away and winds up in an orphanage. After college, she applies to the FBI academy.
Cute story.
And quite popular these days as well!
In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, I will just add that we already have NBC in charge for the drama pilot adapted from Thomas Harris’ series of Hannibal Lecter novels, simply titled Hannibal with Hugh Dancy in the leading role.
Still, they say that Hannibal will not include the Clarice Starling character, and that’s exactly where Lifetime jumps in.
