Mads Mikkelsen, was that
Hannibal thing really necessary? Just when we finally had Mikkelsen on board for the upcoming
Thor: The Dark World, this news came in – he's no longer attached to play the movie villain.
Which is a bad thing, especially because we all know that
Alan Taylor's Marvel follow-up will have some seriously good cast on board, and Mikkelsen looked as the perfect choice for (still) unspecified bad guy role.
Anyway, here's what Mikkelsen had to say in an interview:
“Yeah, that's not happening unfortunately. I had a meeting with them, but they were a little too late. And then Hannibal came in, and everything just came in the same period, so now it's not happening.”
So, blame it on the Hannibal. As we previously reported, that project comes from
Pushing Daisies creator
Bryan Fuller, and is actually a highly anticipated NBC prequel to the well-known story.
Of course, Mikkelsen is on board to play the role of Dr. Hannibal Lecter, portrayed in his early days as a renowned psychiatrist.
As for
Thor 2 the movie should start filming soon in London, and I guess the only thing we can do now is wait for some rumor, or an official update on who will jump in instead of Mikkelsen.
Stay tuned for more updates!
