As a special treat, we present the brand new Germany promo trailer for
Mother's Day that will be released in theaters on April 1, 2011. In the psychological horror thriller, two mothers battle to protect what is dearest to them.
What most drew into the film was the woman who plays the mother –
Rebecca De Mornay. You probably know her from
The Hand That Rocks the Cradle. Director
Darren Lynn Bousman, writer
Scott Milam, also starring
Jaime King and Matt O'Leary.
In “Mother's Day,”
the sadistic members of a villainous family return to their childhood home to terrorize the new home owners and their guests.”
After bank robbery gone wrong, three brothers' head for home, hoping their mother (Rebecca De Mornay) can get them away. The youngest brother,
Johnny (Matt O'Leary), has been shot and their betrayed partner has gotten away with all the cash.
But when the brothers get home, they find that all their stuff is gone and mother lost the house months ago in a foreclosure. The new owners,
Beth and
Daniel Sohapi (
King and
Frank Grillo) and their guests, gathered for an badly timed birthday party, become the brothers' unwitting hostages.
Before too long, mother arrives, along with the boys' sister
Lydia (
Deborah Ann Woll), and it soon becomes clear that mother will do absolutely anything to protect her children. In one horrifying evening, she brightly takes control of the situation and organizes her sons' escape from the law…
But a funny thing happened while shooting. Filmed on Winnipeg, Manitoba, at Canada, one of the scenes that involved guns, the actors were pulled over and held at gun point Royal Canadian Mounted Police after they were mistaken for people that actually robbed a bank nearby. As they looked around and realized they were just filming a movie, they all had a good laugh about it.
