Clint Eastwood‘s biopic of FBI's first director J. Edgar Hoover hits theaters this November, and here's new photos which feature two of the main stars, Leonardo DiCaprio and Naomi Watts. The movie traces Hoover's life from his childhood in Washington, D.C., through his ascent to power in the 1920s, his 50-year reign over the FBI, and his death in 1972 — with DiCaprio donning prosthetic makeup to portray the man well into his bulldog-like elderly years.
“I think that he was always an outsider. I think that's what this story is about, how he sort of lost touch towards the end of his life, to say the least.” By the time he died, Hoover was obsessed with “pretty far-fetched, bizarre, highly paranoid stuff.”
says DiCaprio.
Naomi Watts plays Helen Gandy, Hoover's longtime secretary; Armie Hammer stars as Hoover's protégé Clyde Tolson; Judi Dench as Hoover's overprotective mother, Anne Marie Hoover; Josh Lucas as legendary aviator Charles A. Lindbergh, whose son's kidnapping changes the public profile of the FBI; and Ken Howard as U.S. attorney General Harlan F. Stone.
