Young British actor
Nicholas Hoult has been cast as the teenage mutant Beast in an upcoming comic book adaptation
X-Men: First Class.
Yes, that definitely means
previously rumored Benjamin Walker is replaced by the
Clash of the Titans star!
So, as you see, looks that guys from FOX and director
Matthew Vaughn prefer younger “mutant powers”…
And now, some facts! Beast, The Beast, or if you prefer Dr. Henry Philip “Hank” McCoy is a “superhero and a member of the mutant team of superheroes known as the “X-Men. Throughout his history, the Beast undergoes progressive transformations to his physiognomy, permanently gaining increasingly animalistic physical characteristics.
These include blue fur, feline facial features, pointed ears, fangs, and claws.
His physical power increases to even greater levels, as do his senses. Despite his savage appearance, he is a brilliant man of the arts and sciences.
He is a world authority on biochemistry and genetics, the X-Men's medical doctor, and the science and mathematics instructor at the Xavier Institute.
The character was played by
Kelsey Grammer in
X-Men: The Last Stand.
So, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, blessed with superhuman physical strength and renowned in the Marvel Comics for his blue fur? Well, thank God there's a make-up!
X-Men: First Class is due to begin filming next month, with a June 2011 release planned.
