Offerman, Mullally join High-School Comedy Gay Dude
Hey dudes, a bunch of comedy names have joined the cast of the Lionsgate's Gay Dude – Broadway veteran and Emmy Award winner Megan Mullally and her husband Nick Offerman are the latest thesps to sign on to the upcoming high-school comedy directed by Chris Nelson.
The husband and wife team, who portray ex-spouses on NBC's Parks and Recreation, will play along Nicholas Braun, Hunter Cope, Gary Cole, and Brian Geraghty. Dakota Johnson (The Social Network), Dreama Walker (The Sitter) and Modern Family's Sarah Hyland will also co-star in the Alan Yang-written (Parks And Recreation, again) story of ‘two guys who make a pact to lose their virginity before prom, only to have one of them come out of the closet.'
Two best friends Michael and Matty both helping each other to get laid, will be played by Nicholas Braun and Hunter Cope. Of course, the situation becomes even more bizarre when Matty reveals that he's gay. Gary Colewill play Matty's rather staunch conservative dad, Offerman will be playing Michael's father, who couldn't be even more supportive of Matty, while Mullally will be Matty's mom.
Offerman will soon be seen starring opposite Will Ferrell in the Spanish comedy Casa de mi padre and will star and produce the indie film Somebody Up There Likes Me.
Mullally, best-known for her role of Karen Walker on NBC's Will & Grace is set to co-star in Lionsgate's ensemble comedy What to Expect when You're Expecting.
Every time Mullally and Offerman share a scene together it's really just the icing on the cake.
