Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely and Scott Rosenberg stand behind the script which revolves around a group of bodybuilders who engaged in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder in Florida.

The movie is based on a 1999 series of Miami New Times articles surrounding the brutal kidnapping, extortion, torture and murder of several victims by an organized group of criminals that included a number of body builders.

Mark Wahlberg stars as Daniel Lugo, Anthony Mackie plays his friend named Adrian Doorbal, Dwayne Johnson is on board as a recently released criminal Paul Doyle, while the rest of the cast also includes Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Tony Shalhoub and Rebel Wilson.
Pain & Gain is set to open on April 26th, 2013.
