The series, which follows CIA station chief Joe McNamara (Zoë Saldaña) as she navigates the high-stakes world of counterterrorism, has been a global hit for the streaming platform. In its first week, ‘Lioness' set a new record as Paramount+'s most-watched worldwide series premiere, with nearly 6 million total viewers.

Season 2 will see the return of Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveira, Michael Kelly, and Nicole Kidman, with Morgan Freeman being promoted to a series regular as Secretary of State Edwin Mullins.
