Peruvian director Ricardo de Montreuil, who popped up in Hollywood’s radar with his short film The Raven is now set to direct a screen test for Gael Garcia Bernal.
We reported back in February that free spirited actor Bernal will likely star as legendary Zorro in 20th Century Fox’s upcoming ‘futuristic reboot’ of the masked avenger titled Zorro Reborn.
The film will reportedly find the masked avenger in a desolate post-apocalyptic world ‘bent on getting revenge against an evil tyrant and his gang of mercenaries.’
No doubt, the involvement of Bernal and de Montreuil certainly makes the project more appealing.
Glen Gers created the Zorro project’s early drafts, while Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy have been brought on for the latest revisions.
