Russell Brand to Replace Jim Carrey in PIERRE PIERRE

Russell Brand Another comedy for Russell Brand! This time we're here to have a little chat about Larry Charles‘ upcoming project titled Pierre Pierre where Brand would star an obnoxious French nihilist. Just in case the whole thing already sounds familiar to you, I will right here at the beginning remind you that, once upon a time we had Jim Carrey attached to play the lead and Jason Reitman set to direct. But as you see – that's now a history…(un)fortunately… So, now Brand comes on board to play that obnoxious French nihilist who transports a stolen painting from Paris to London. Along the way he crosses paths with a French police inspector, a serial killer named Pigeonshit and his own brothel-owning mother. Is this a comedy, or a tragedy? I'm not sure, but with Borat and Bruno director on board – everything is possible! Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton are behind the Black List script, which Fox Atomic spent $1 million to acquire in 2008. Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will produce the whole thing, together with Brian Sher. Are you ready for Pierre Pierre finally? Everybody say “Oui” please, and stay tuned for more!
