Sam Claflin‘s career was going to take him to Hammer Films’ The Quiet Ones, the supernatural chiller which soon goes into production with John Pogue (Quarantine 2) behind the camera.
Led by Mad Men and A Game of Shadows star Jared Harris, The Quiet Ones details the story inspired by true events and centers on the controversial methods applied by a charismatic professor (Harris) to generate negative energy from his students and create a poltergeist. Claflin will star as Bryan McNeil when the film stars shooting in the UK this June.
The script was written by Craig Rosenberg, Pogue and The Messenger writer-director Oren Moverman.
Claflin recently starred in Disney’s latest installment of the hit adventure fantasy franchise Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and he will next be seen in Universal’s Snow White and The Huntsman to be rolled out across the U.K. and the U.S. from June 1st.
Hammer Films recently had their biggest hit yet with The Woman in Black, starring Daniel Radcliffe, which made $126 million worldwide on a relatively small budget.
