We've just received a press release announcement that Armie Hammer is going to star in the psychological thriller 2:22.
Paul Currie from One Perfect Day is set to direct with Lawrence Inglee producing. The script is written by Todd Stein (Unbound) and Nathan Parker (Moon). The film rights for international distribution will be sold at upcoming Cannes.
2:22 is a smart sort of thriller, as a roller coaster ride that follows Dylan (Hammer) an air traffic controller who is given quite a jolt when he just saves his skin being responsible for an aviation accident between two passenger planes. Caused by a strange blinding light that occurred at 2:22, these peculiar incidents keep on and lead Dylan to meet Sarah, with whom he feels mysteriously linked. Couple finds out weird similarities with their current dilemma and a double homicide committed a generation ago. With a calamitous fate looming, Dylan must explain the mystery of 2:22 to protect a love whose second chance has finally come.
Since the penners were responsible for outstanding Sci-fi drama Moon, as well as for Jason Statham's actioner Blitz – the 2:22 thriller could go both ways.
As for Armie Hammer, impressive performance in The Social Network has catapulted his career. He has signed on to co-starring in J. Edgar directed by Clint Eastwood, starring Leonardo Di Caprio, he has confirmed another co-starring role in Tarsem Singh's The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, and he's in negotiations to star opposite Johnny Depp in Disney's upcoming adaptation of The Lone Ranger that Gore Verbinski will indeed be helming.
We just meant to inform you that the film is slated to start production this fall in Sydney.
