Warner Bros. has officially revealed the release dates for two highly anticipated films: “Supergirl” and “Mortal Kombat 2.” These announcements mark significant milestones in the studio's slate of upcoming projects, promising exciting cinematic experiences for fans of both franchises.

“Supergirl,” directed by Andrés Muschietti, known for his work on “It” and “The Flash,” is set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. The film stars Sasha Calle as Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl, in her first solo outing. Calle's portrayal of the character was first introduced in “The Flash,” where she impressed audiences with her powerful and nuanced performance. The plot is expected to delve deep into Supergirl's origins and her struggle to find her place on Earth while dealing with threats from beyond our planet.

“Mortal Kombat 2,” the sequel to the 2021 reboot directed by Simon McQuoid, will be released on August 16, 2025. The film will see the return of key cast members, including Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion. The sequel aims to expand on the brutal and action-packed universe established in the first film, with intense martial arts sequences and deeper exploration of the lore surrounding the Mortal Kombat tournament.

Both films promise to deliver thrilling narratives and exceptional performances, catering to fans who have eagerly awaited these releases. With strong creative teams behind them, “Supergirl” and “Mortal Kombat 2” are set to be standout additions to Warner Bros.' upcoming film roster.
