We had a lot of reports about Timur Bekmambetov‘s upcoming adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith‘s novel titled Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, but it’s always a good time for a little update, right?
Well, guess what, according to the latest reports, Rufus Sewell is set to star in the whole thing and he will play “Adam, the lead vampire villain.”
By now we know that Benjamin Walker is set to star as Abraham Lincoln, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Mary Todd Lincoln, Anthony Mackie as Abe’s friend Will, Alan Tudyk as Stephen A. Douglas, Jimmi Simpson as Lincoln’s right hand man and Dominic Cooper as Lincoln’s vampire-slaying mentor, Henry.
The story centers on 16th President Abraham Lincoln, who leads a double-life as a vampire slayer after learning that his mother was killed by a vampire.
Or, if you prefer more details, here’s the description of the novel from Amazon: “Indiana, 1818. Moonlight falls through the dense woods that surround a one-room cabin, where a nine-year-old Abraham Lincoln kneels at his suffering mother’s bedside. She’s been stricken with something the old-timers call “Milk Sickness.” “My baby boy…” she whispers before dying.
