The Hangover director Todd Phillips will pair with producer Joel Silver for a project so shrouded in mystery that is known only by its working title Project X.

So, what we actually now at this moment is, that both of them are on board to help put together a low budget R-rated comedy for the feature directorial debut of Nima Nourizadeh.

Schlock Holmes is too brutal. Call it instead The Adventure of the Da Vinci Code Knock-off or The Adventure of the Missing Ending. Either would be equally appropriate. This original story, which borrows heavily from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “canonical” tales, contains multiple Easter Eggs for Holmes fans but fails in the bigger picture: developing a credible narrative. Unduly influenced by both comic books and The Da Vinci Code, Guy Ritchie’s “re-interpretation” of Holmes feels more spastic than kinetic. The camera rarely stops moving and, when it does, the weaknesses of the script become apparent. Conan Doyle wrote 60 adventures starring his famous detective (56 short stories, four novels). Robert Downey Jr. sounds that self-destructive eccentricity as a keynote from his first appearance in Sherlock Holmes, and his twitchy, winning performance returns to it throughout the film. The interpretation veers sharply away from the tweedy expectations set by Basil Rathbone and others, but it’s as true in its own way to the source. Guy Ritchie To Direct Lobo

Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie has signed on to direct a live-action adaptation of DC Comics’ bad boy anti-hero Lobo, a character originated in 1983 in “Omega Men” by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen.

Lobo is a alien interstellar bounty hunter. The seven-foot tall, blue-skinned, indestructible and heavily muscled anti-hero drives a pimped out motorcycle, and lands on Earth in search of four fugitives who are bent on wreaking havoc.

“RocknRolla” Is Very English!

RocknRolla,” Guy Ritchie‘s new movie is searching for a new distributor.

The producer of Guy Ritchie’s upcoming gangster film “RocknRolla” Joel Silver has been screening the movie for rival studios Lionsgate and Sony in the hope that they will take it away from Warner Bros., according to the Los Angeles Times.

Alan Horn, chief operating officer of Warner Bros, said that he would honour a small-scale release agreement for “RocknRolla,” even though he doubted its commercial appeal.

Joel Silver wants new ‘Wonder Woman’ film

Joel SilverProducer Joel Silver has revealed that he wants the new ‘Wonder Woman film to be a “genesis” story.

Silver, known for producing action films, ‘The Matrix’, ‘Lethal Weapon‘ and the upcoming ‘Speed Racer‘, admitted he had changed his mind about which direction to take the film.

“I thought for a while that I didn’t want to do a genesis story of Wonder Woman,” Silver told.

The producer added that he found the character’s back story “goofy” but was determined to find a way to make it work.
