Matthew Vaughn’s Next Film Will Not Be Kick-Ass 2
Ok, this was fast. First we saw some reports with Jane Goldman‘s name in it and these days, when we have her name in a report – we all expect to hear some update on the Kick-Ass story, right?
So, there was The Daily Mail article where it was mentioned that Goldman is currently working on the script for the Kick-Ass sequel.
And, there was a little tweet from Jane Goldman where she explained that, at this moment, that’s not going to happen!
“Saw a few erroneous reports today that I’m currently writing Kick Ass 2 script – sorry if anyone’s disappointed, but not true.

You can like him, or not, but there are two things about Mark Millar that you just can’t ignore. First – he likes to talk. Second – his comics have been made into good movies – Wanted and Kick Ass of course.
We all had a chance to hear some rumors about Kick Ass sequel, but now, speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, Millar said that the whole project has already been “greenlit”!
“The estimate is Kick-Ass will do 100 to 150 million on DVD based on the American sales, you know, so it’ll end up making a quarter of a billion on a 28 million investment.
So it should be okay!
So the sequel’s greenlit, we can go ahead and do the follow up now, you know. The first made so much compared to what it cost it would be crazy not to.”
Mark Millar Talks About KICK-ASS 2
Mark Millar recently spoke with SCI FI Wire about the adaptation of “Kick-Ass“, which follows a 16-year-old who decides to become a superhero, and revealed that the development for “Kick-Ass 2” is happening.
Millar is motivated by the fact that “Wanted” made tons of money and the prediction that the upcoming adaptation “Kick-Ass” will be just as successful.
