Total Recall (2011) Future Cop

The Columbia Pictures remake Total Recall is shooting this week the Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Canada, and a bunch of set photos have hit the web.

According to THR, the plot of this Len Wiseman (Underwold) version will swing from Mars back to the Earth. In the 1990 original, a man haunted by a recurring dream of voyaging to Mars buys a virtual dream trip from a company called Rekall Inc. and when he awakens he deems that he’s a secret agent destined to defeat a corrupt official scheming the production of air on Mars. THR says the new story will get rid of the Martian storyline and in its place involve nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai, with Douglas Quaid (Farrell) a factory worker who starts thinking he’s a spy, although he wasn’t sure for which side.

Kate Beckinsale, Total Recall

It appears that could become quite a crowded cast list for the female lead in the Total Recall remake. Kate Beckinsale was offered a role of Lori opposite Colin Farrell — next to her, Diane Kruger and Jessica Biel have read for the role of Lori too. Although she was not considered ever since this is not surprising because Beckinsale is married to director Len Wiseman.

Jessica Biel

Total Recall remake is coming, and we’re happy to update our previous reports with the latest news that goes like this – Jessica Biel has been offered the role in the upcoming Len Wiseman‘s project that already has Colin Farrell on board. At this moment it’s still unclear which role she would play, but there’s a chance she’s going to play character named Lori, after all.

At least that’s what we had a chance to hear from Variety. The two roles in the original, Lori and Melina, were played by Sharon Stone and Rachel Ticotin respectively. Now, we have even three actresses circling out for the roles in this reboot – Eva Mendes, Diane Kruger and Kate Bosworth.

At first moment “there was early buzz that Biel was going for the role of Melina, but sources say there’s a chance she’s vying to play Lori.” The rest of the cast will include Colin Farrell, who will be stepping into the Schwarzenegger role while Bryan Cranston is attached to play the villain.

Bruce Willis

Instead of saying Nothing Last Forever, we instead say that yet another next of kin of Hans Gruber is going to come to the big screen and make John McLane’s life more difficult.

Even though Fox stated The Playlist that there was no script in place for a Die Hard 5 and that any possible follow up would be off, the Live Free… movie is still running with the title Die Hard 24/7.

Back on May 2010 it was publicized that writer Skip Woods (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The A-Team) was trying to gain some script for a fifth Die Hard and the film will be produced by Alex Young. It was told that Bruce Willis will return again as John McClane and Willis said that he would like to see one more director Len Wiseman and would also like to see the whole story take place outside of the States with an uncertain “Die Hard 24/7” to be a working title of the film. Willis also commented that a fifth entry in the franchise was “imminent” but it seems to be still in early stages or back to the drawing board.

Len Wiseman (Underworld director) is in final negotiations to helm a remake of the 1990 sci-fi flick Total Recall.

Total Recall

We all remember the original movie, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and was based on the Philip K. Dick story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale,” but this time, Salt writer Kurt Wimmer will be in charge for the updated screenplay.

So, the film will be a new, contemporized adaptation of original Paul Verhoeven’s Total Recall, a story about “a man who believes he’s a secret agent and is haunted by a recurring dream about travelling to Mars.”

Director Wiseman seems to be very excited about this project, since he said:
