Recent reports that 20th Century Fox were in talks with Kiefer Sutherland to reprise the role of Jack Bauer in a new 24 limited series, have now been confirmed – the actor will reprise his role of counter terrorist agent that brought him back under the spotlight. Read more after the jump.
While fans of 24 had been forced to resign themselves to vile fate and the fact that they would (almost) certainly never see Jack Bauer's story concluded (not on TV nor big screen), Deadline has now confirmed that junior Sutherland has signed up to return to the role of Jack Bauer in the recently announced limited series.
The unfortunate cancellation of Touch (which I find a shame because the series had really interesting plot, and I'm kinda vexed that I didn't get to see the real end) has now turned up being very good news for fans of the drama which aired for eight seasons, between 2001 – 2010.
An official announcement is expected to be made later today at Fox's upfront presentation, so be sure to stay tuned for updates!
