Mark Boal to Write Julian Assange Movie, Paul Greengrass to Direct Another One

Julian Assange

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is one famous guy, indeed! We already have one documentary about him, one possible film, and today – one film that may be written by Mark Boal, and another one with Paul Greengrass attached as a possible director! Huh! Assange, Assange, you're going to be some tough competition for the upcoming Snow White! So, we just learned that Oscar winning screenwriter Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) is teaming up with production label Management 360 and producer Megan Ellison to obtain the rights of another Assange based article to be transformed into a movie. The article was published in the New York Times, and is called The Boy Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest: Dealing With Assange and the WikiLeaks Secrets. The article is written by Bill Keller. However, there is some interest in a movie based on Assange's memoirs, which reportedly Paul Greengrass is interested in directing. And, as we already reported, there's Alex Gibney's documentary based on Raffi Khatchadourian's June 7, 2010 New Yorker article called No Secrets: Julian Assange's Mission for Total Transparency and a possible film based on Andrew Fowler's forthcoming book titled The Most Dangerous Man in the World. On the other hand, DreamWorks is considering a film adaptation of the book Inside WikiLeaks to be released on February 15, which is written by Daniel Domscheit-Berg, a WikiLeaks defector who wanted to reveal journalistic discretion towards the government secret documents.
