Patrick Melton and
Marcus Dunstan latest film,
The Collection is a sequel to 2009s
The Collector, which they wrote and Dunstan directed and in just a few short days the film will hit theaters on November 30th, 2012.
No big deal, but until that date we have scored a brand new official clip.
Dunstan recently said:
So many PG-13 horror films these days center around a teen cast where everybody looks like they've been Photoshopped. Within the first 10 minutes, we lined up every stereotype – the hot chick and her sassy best friend, and the cheating boyfriend – so you think: ‘I know exactly where this is going.' Suddenly, at minute 13, we go all out and it's: ‘Whoa, what the hell is this?'
As you might remember in The Collector, Arkin (
Josh Stewart) escapes from captivity. This time Dunstan said:
Our hero was left in such a place of despair, and this sequel represents an opportunity for him to kick a bully's ass. Your villain can still be terrible, but what if, when you left the theater, you weren't followed home by this haunting notion of dread, but instead, the movie delivered bloody satisfaction? That was our goal this time.
You have noticed that Stewart returns as Arkin, who is again abducted, this time by the parents of a girl, Elena (
Emma Fitzpatrick) who is entrapped by the Collector at the same party as Arkin.
The film also stars
Lee Tergesen, Christopher McDonald, Johnny Yong Bosch, Shannon Kane, Tim Griffin, William Peltz, Eaddy Mays, Michael Nardelli, Justin Mortelliti, Michael H. Cole, Arloa Reston and
Courtney Lauren Cumming.
You will not find a sense of reality nearly as well as you did in the first film, but this sequel takes elements of part one and raises the stakes to a much higher level.
Oddly enough, check out the clip below.
