Adam Brody Joins Greta Gerwig for Damsel in Distress

Adam BrodyIt will be a low budget film with no stars and lesser known faces. At least, that's what director Whit Stillman is planning to do with his next film called Damsel in Distress, which is currently filming in New York. You already had a chance to hear that Greta Gerwig is the part of this project, but the latest news goes like this: Adam Brody has joined the cast as well! Check out the description: “the movie revolves around a group of style-obsessed college girls who take in a new student (Gerwig) and teach her their misguided ways of helping people at their grungy university, sort of Mean Girls filtered through the lens of the filmmaker behind such urbane indie dramas as Barcelona, Metropolitan and Disco. The crux of the story is focused on the relationship between Gerwig's character and a suitor (Brody), whom the girls are taken with but have doubts over his intentions.” Some sort of… dark comedy, right? Well, according to Gerwig, it definitely is, since she explained: “I play a girl named Violet who runs a suicide-prevention center at a liberal arts college. She prevents suicides through the powers of Thirties song-and-dance numbers. So it's a very dark comedy.” Get ready for some fun, then!
