Jake Gyllenhaal seeks out his exact look-alike after spotting him in a movie. Hm, that should be interesting! Especially now when we (finally) have three official images from Denis Villeneuve‘s upcoming action-drama An Enemy. Nothing spectacular, just Jake, another Jake, Jake again, and a bit of his co-star Sarah Gadon. Take a look!
First of all, let us remind you that Villeneuve's new film is based on José Saramago‘s novel The Double, which revolves around a divorced high school history teacher who rents a movie in which he sees a man that looks exactly like him.
Against his better judgment, Tertuliano decides to pursue his double. As he roots out the man's identity, what begins as a whimsical story becomes a “wonderfully twisted meditation on identity and individuality”.
So, basically Gyllenhaal is on board to tell us a haunting tale of appearance versus reality? We're in! The rest of the cast looks promising as well, and includes the above mentioned Sarah Gadon, Isabella Rossellini, Melanie Laurent, Joshua Peace and Jane Moffat.
Still no official release date for An Enemy, but you have nothing to worry about – we'll keep an eye on it!
