Christina Ricci is all about pilots these days. I've just learned that she's attached to star in another NBC comedy titled Girlfriend in a Coma, and although I'm a little bit confused about that comedy-part of the story, I'm glad that Ricci is a busy girl.
Even when she's set to star as the lead in a completely weird project…
Weird? Here's why! Ricci actually comes on board to play a woman named Karen who, after almost two decades (?!), wakes up from a coma to find out she has a 17-year-old daughter from a pregnancy she was unaware of when her life was put on hold.
So, it's like – that awkward moment when you wake up and realize you're pregnant.
Relax, maybe it's not your baby! Anyway, the project comes from Liz Brixius (Nurse Jackie creator) and Dick Wolf (Law & Order: SVU) so there's nothing to be surprised about.
Brixius will write the script for the single-camera comedy and will serve as executive producer alongside Wolf, Danielle Gelber and Peter Jankowski.
