Colin Farrell In Something Borrowed And In Sequel Too

Fiona January 7, 2012 Add a Comment
Colin FarrellWe already wrote about the upcoming romantic comedy Something Borrowed, and, if you remember, we said that we'll be right here when we hear something new and fresh about it. Well, he's not so new when it comes to Hollywood movies, but he's definitely fresh when it comes to this kind of rom-coms, and that's why we're (kind of) excited to report that Colin Farrell has signed on to star in Something Borrowed, a romantic comedy for Warner Bros! So, we're not going to repeat the official synopsis part, because you can find it right here, on our site. We could just mention that the film will be based on the popular novel by Emily Giffin. The story finds Darcy and Dex experience relationship troubles when Darcy's best friend engages in an affair with her soon-to-be husband. And, of course, we already talked about Kate Hudson, Ginnifer Goodwin, John Krasinski and Colin Egglesfield, since that was the first cast-rumor we heard, but now, we must add another Colin to this list! We just had a chance to hear that Farrell will play Marcus in the upcoming project (or, if you prefer, Dex's best friend). Well, we must say that we're little surprised. Ok, we know Farrell can play just about every role, and he's definitely very talented, but then, what's so strange about this Marcus-role? Still don't have any idea, maybe because we're used watching this Irish actor in a little bit different roles in movies like Ondine, Crazy Heart or Cassandra's Dream or In Bruges or … just name it! Man is good! And we are not trying to underestimate this kind of wedding-movies-with-Hudson-in-the-leading-role, but with Farrell's name on the list, this definitely sounds like something that could actually have some potential. Another interesting rumor, is that most of the actors are also signed on for the sequel based on Emily Giffin's second novel Something Blue so, as you all can see, this could be some kind of rom-com-franchise we're dealing with… Just when we all thought that this was one-minute news to write about, they came up with Colin Farrell, and now we can't wait to hear more details about the whole thing. Until then, let's just add that this Luke Greenfield‘s movie begins shooting in the Hamptons later this month, and that's why you should stay tuned!
