Caesar Is Not Alone: First Image From DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes The very first (official) image from the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has arrived, and as usual – you can check it out in the rest of this report. We already shared all important details about the sequel, you also had a chance to see some cool set photos with Serkis and Russell, now head inside to take a better look at Caesar and his friends. It is immediately clear he is older, wiser, and very unhappy? Matt Reeves directs the sequel to the 2011 film Rise of the Planet of the Apes from a script written by Scott Z. Burns, Amanda Silver, Rick Jaffa and Mark Bomback, and the movie is already set to hit theaters on July 18th, 2014. Beside Andy Serkis who reprises his role as Caesar, the rest of the cast also includes Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer. This time, the movie centers on:
…a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
Or, as Reeves explained at Fox’s Comic-Con panel:
The story is Caesar-centric, set in a grander scale. This film is about how we get from a pandemic human virus shown at the end of Rise to The planet of the apes as seen in the original movie.
In other words, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will show us what happens when a group of human survivors suddenly show up, and how the apes community react. Caesar, on the other hand, is now a father, has a wife, a teenage son and an infant child. He’s a leader with responsibility and he’s trying to bring some of the humanity that he grew up with to the ape community. Well, one thing is for sure, this definitely looks promising, hope you agree? As usual – click on the image to enlarge & stay tuned for more updates! Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Image
