Transformers 2 Not wanting his upcoming action film “Transformers 2” to be affected by the writers' strike, director Michael Bay tackled the writing task himself. Rotten Tomatoes reported that the “Bad Boys” series helmer confessed that he has finished writing the sequel script of the blockbuster movie “Transformers”. At the Visual Effects Society awards, the 42-year-old filmmaker said, “I've been writing Transformers 2.” He then stated, “We've got our characters all designed. I always write all my scripts, my movies anyway so at least I've got something to give the writers. It's like a template. We have a really good outline so I worked on that. On the reason why he did the job, he revealed that he had to do so in order to make the movie on time saying, “We had to because I want to make my date. I'm not going to let the strike take me down.” On the occasion, Bay also let out that the sequel will have many new characters. He said, “We can actually make the depth of these characters more fun and a lot more interesting characters. To see actually what you can achieve visually, you never know. When you go into a movie, you never know visually. I think I've got a lot of fun, interesting, funny characters.” On the down side, IESB reported that at the very same event, Bay has revealed to the site that though there will be a lot of interesting new characters, the movie won't include “Dinobots”. The Paramount Pictures' sci-fi film which will still see its original actor Shia LaBeouf as the leading human role is slated for release on June 26, 2009.
