Here’s an awesome casting update: Luke Evans is set to star in Universal’s upcoming horror thriller Dracula: Year Zero! And, of course, he’s set to play one of the greatest villains in history and our favourite vampire! Man, that’s exactly what we need – more vampires, more tragic love stories and more Evans!
So, at this moment we know that Gary Shore is on board to direct the movie from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
The story is a mix of mythology and true history, it explores the origin of Dracula and seeks to depict Dracula as a flawed hero in a tragic love story set in a dark age of magic and war.
According to the latest reports, the film will revolve around:
…a young prince who, when the lives of his wife and child are put in danger by a bloodthirsty sultan, risks his soul to save them, and in the process becomes the first vampire.
At the end of this report, let us also add that Michael De Luca will produce the movie while Alissa Phillips will serve as executive producer.
