Dwayne Johnson mentioned in May that he's inching closer to playing a DC Comics character and now the-wrestler-turned-actor has finally clarified that statement so we know that the figure he has been circling is Lobo.
‘Rock Talk' did the same way he did once — he took to his Twitter page once again and he made pretty big announcement:
Rumors of me possibly playing LOBO are true. Joel Silver and Brad Peyton working on it now. That could be fun..
Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen created the DC Comics title in 1984 about Lobo, an alien mercenary and bounty hunter who throughout the series' evolution has turned from a villain into an anti-hero biker.
The director of Johnson's last movie Journey 2: The Center of the Earth, Brad Peyton is reportedly hired by Warner Bros. to write and direct Lobo.
Johnson is already working on the film version of the Oni Press graphic novel Ciudad and Radical Publishing's Hercules: The Thracian War.
Warner Bros. Pictures has not set a release date yet for the Lobo film.
