Edgar Wright Confirms ‘Baby Driver 2’ as His Next Project – What to Expect

Great news for movie lovers and lovers of action-packed-movies! It was officially announced that Edgar Wright who authored the amazing Baby Driver is now hired to direct its sequel. After months and years of speculations and several announcements about Wright's other projects and upcoming films, it has been officially announced that Baby Driver 2 will be the director's next film after the Running Man remake that is set to go on floors in the end of 2024.

Speaking of action movies, Baby Driver enchanted the viewers with the music and innovative use of practical effects. For its part, the sequel seeks to give a higher dosage of the action-packed thrills that defined the first movie. There is no official response regarding the participation of the initial lead characters, such as Ansel Elgort, Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm, Kevin Spacey, and Eiza González; however, insider Daniel Richtman has noted that Jon Bernthal will have a much more crucial role in the sequel.

In my opinion, Baby Driver is perhaps Wright's best effort due to his skills in fusing the intensity of the action scenes with an engaging story. Although Wright has received some backlash for his latest picture, Last Night in Soho, critics and enthusiasts are keenly waiting for his new opportunity. Other films he has directed include Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and Shaun of the Dead, with the latter putting him on the map as an edgy and exciting director.

Notably, while people are discussing the possibility of having Baby Driver 2, it is important to note that Wright's other future films that are in development or production include Barbarella featuring Sydney Sweeney, and The Chain rumored to have Emma Stone are either in the development stage or have not been produced. This scheduling perfectly fits Baby Driver 2 as Wright's next significant project after Running Man.

In conclusion, Baby Driver 2 is expected to take the audience once again to the world of intense car chases and exhilarating tunes. As with Wright directing and with possible casting shocks, this sequel just might prove to be one of the most awaited films in the years to come. Watch out for more news as we get closer to the time when it goes into production at the end of 2024, and get ready to ride again with Baby behind the wheel!
