Ewan McGregor as a bank robber? Why not, when Andrew Garfield can do it, McGregor can do it as well!
Check this out then, McGregor is set to star in project titled Electric Slide, that will follow McGregor as “gentlemen bank robber” Eddie Dodson who robbed banks all over Southern California but without actually using a gun. As you see, being a bank robber is quite popular these days in Hollywood.
I must admit that this other project, Electric Slide sounds better. Here's a little description of a biopic about real-life thief Eddie Dodson:
“Dodson owned a hip L.A. antiques store in the 1970s, frequented by celebrities, but became addicted to heroin towards the end of the decade, and in 1983 turned to bank robbing to support his habit.
Known as the New York Yankees Bandit, Dodson peacefully and politely robbed 64 banks in seven months (a record), picking up more than $280,000 for his troubles, but was caught in 1984 when a bank employee followed him after a robbery.”
Impressive, indeed!
Carey Mulligan was at one point attached to play the female lead, but it looks that she's now off the project.
On the other hand, many producers have also been attached to take this project, but the producer of Blue Valentine, Jamie Patricof is on board, together with writer/director Tristan Patterson, who is set to turn in a new script in the next few weeks.
