First Great Poster For HAMMER OF THE GODS Has Arrived!

Everyone has to die! Wow, this looks pretty cool, I'm sure you'll agree. And this is the first poster for Vertigo Films' movie titled Hammer Of The Gods, which comes from director Farren Blackburn and stars Charlie Bewley (The Twilight Saga) and James Cosmo (we all remember him from Braveheart, right?) in the leading roles. The movie is already being described as Viking action film…Sounds a little bit dangerous to me. Just a little bit. Anyway, at this moment we know that Matthew Read stands behind the movie script and that the story is set in the violent world of Viking Britain in 871 AD.

The movie will tell us the story of a young Viking warrior named Steinar, sent by his father the King Bagsecg on a quest to find his estranged brother, who was banished from the kingdom many years before. Steinar's epic journey across hostile territory gradually sees him emerge as the man his father wants him to be – the ruthless and unforgiving successor to his throne.

As you already guess Bewley is set to play that young warrior Steinar while Cosmo stars as his father. The rest of the cast also includes Clive Standen. Hammer Of The Gods will be released through Magnet's Ultra VOD program in 2013. When exactly – stay tuned to find out!
