Javier Bardem is one busy guy, indeed.
Skyfall, then
The Counselor, and what's next? Maybe something like this – an adaptation of
Carlos Bardem‘s novel
Alacran Enamorado?
Wait, Carlos Bardem? He's like… Javier's brother? Exactly, and this adaptation, roughly translated as
Scorpion in Love, is the next project where Javier will star as the lead. Interesting enough? Sure!
The whole thing will be directed by
Santiago Zannou, and Carlos Bardem (and who else?) is responsible for the script as well.
At this moment we know that the movie will be set in urban multicultural Spain today and that it will center on the young neo-Nazi nicknamed the ‘Scorpion' who falls for a Latin American immigrant.
Alex Gonzalez and
Judith Diakhate are on board to star as Scorpion and an immigrant.
As for Bardem, he will play character named Solis, the group's ideologue, while the rest of the cast includes former boxer
Rudo Hovic as the gym's owner and
Miguel Angel Sikvestre as the lead's friend.
In case you want even more details about the whole thing, here's the full synopsis:
“Julián is a young, angry Neo-Nazi. Despite being poisoned by hate, there is nobility in his soul. He will discover it in a boxing gym thanks to Carlomonte, an alcoholic and a former boxer who once had it all but lost it. In the gym, Julián will learn to fight with rules.
He will slowly empty himself of hate, and learn to love when he meets Alyssa, a young immigrant. Julián will have to take an important decision when his former colleagues put him to the test.”
Filming on Alacran Enamorado began yesterday, and as usual – with every new update about the whole thing – we'll be back!
