Liam Hemsworth in Negotiations to Lead Phillip Noyce’s TIMELESS
Aussie thesp Liam Hemsworth, the younger brother of Chris (Thor) and Luke Hemsworth, is in talks to play the lead role in Phillip Noyce's next film, Timeless.
The actor who is playing Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games movie (opens on March 23, 2012) would star in Timeless as a young widower, who is aware of unresolved life issues between his late wife and himself that caused him pain and torment. Therefore, the character does what any sensible guy on earth would do: he decides to take relatively large amount of cash left to him by his deceased spouse to create a time machine and travel back in the hopes of finding some kind of closure and to see her one final time.
Time-traveling love story Timeless is penned by Enchanted's Bill Kelly.
Hemsworth, best known for romancing Miley Cyrus in The Last Song, will soon go back to a very troubled time in history: the Vietnam war as he's signed on to star in the indie drama, AWOL for first-time director Danny Mooney. Furthermore, thesp who was honored with the ‘Fave Kiss' Award lands a role in the Sly Stallone testosterone-o-rama known as The Expendables 2 (opens August 17, 2012).
Phillip Noyce, the Aussie helmer who proved his action competence with last year's Angelina Jolie vehicle, Salt, should be able to adapt his style to a new genre, no doubt.
Relativity wants to keep details of the production under wraps for the moment.
Stay tuned to see if Hemsworth is the real deal.
