Safe to guess that this is the final trailer for Guillermo del Toro‘s upcoming sci-fi spectacle, 'cause in case you forgot, Pacific Rim opens this Friday! As you're about to see, the latest 2-minute video goes back to the beginning of the giant robots vs giant monsters story and (surprise, surprise!) offers a looooot of action. I'm sure you already know all important details about Pacific Rim, but I will once again remind you that del Toro directed the whole thing from a script he co-wrote with Travis Beacham, which revolves around:
…soldiers who pilot giant robots (Jaegers) into battle against invading giant monsters (Kaiju) who have risen from a portal beneath the ocean.
Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini all star in the movie which is set to hit theaters on July 12th, 2013.
What definitely sounds promising is that the very first reviews of Pacific Rim are mostly positive, and although Del Toro focused on big, beautiful, sophisticated visuals, it looks that we're definitely dealing with everything but the super-dark, cynical summer movie.
