RAMBO TV Series in Development

Rambo Our action hero Rambo is back, but this time – the project is being developed as a potential television series by Entertainment One and producer Avi Lerner. Do we really need a TV show about the well-known Vietnam veteran? Sure, but only if Sylvester Stallone is on board! Unfortunately, the latest reports say that Sly will certainly not reprise his role as the iconic John Rambo for the small screen. Ok, it’s not actually a secret that Stallone is (still) interested in reviving the franchise and character, but apparently – he himself will not portray the character in the upcoming series. However, according to the latest reports, Stallone is in negotiations to be involved with the Rambo TV skein on a creative level. Whatever that means… Anyway, here’s what we know about the upcoming show. Entertainment One has firmed up a co-development pact with Avi Lerner and Nu Image to develop and produce a television series based on Rambo. The partners will collectively develop the series and shop it to broadcasters in the US and internationally. Rambo, a cult classic series of movies and an epic feature film character starring Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo is based on the David Morell novel “First Blood” and follows a troubled Vietnam War veteran and former Green Beret who is skilled in many aspects of survival, weaponry, hand to hand combat and guerrilla warfare. The series consists of the films “First Blood”, “Rambo: First Blood Part II”, “Rambo III” and “Rambo”. The television series will be produced by eOne in association with Lerner and Nu Image. Executive producers will include John Morayniss for eOne and Lerner for Nu Image, with eOne handling the worldwide rights to the series in all media. We’ll keep an eye on this, make sure you stay tuned for more updates!
