Sacha Baron Cohen Eyeing THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS
If you didn’t hear it yet, Sacha Baron Cohen is in early talks to star in the sequel to Tim Burton’s billion-dollar film that will be called Through The Looking Glass.
The British comedian is eying to play the lead villain in Alice in Wonderland 2, set to be directed by The Muppets‘ James Bobin from a screenplay by the 2010 blockbuster writer Linda Woolverton.
Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska are reprising their roles of The Mad Hatter and Alice in Through The Looking Glass, which will probably see younger versions of their characters as the Borat and Hugo actor is reportedly in negotiations to play the main baddie named Time.
This would mark a reunion for Baron Cohen and Depp who starred together in 2007’s strongly-lauded Burton’s Sweeney Todd.
Cohen is currently attached to star in Louis Leterrier’s spy comedy Grimsby and developing Paramount’s The Lesbian. It will give him time in the second half of the year to shoot Alice in Wonderland 2 which comes to theaters May 27th, 2016.
No plot details have been revealed yet, but we can confirm that this will be its own creature.
