So, you probably already had a chance to hear that an adaptation of the
Nicholas Sparks novel titled
The Lucky One is coming, and that
Scott Hicks is in charge for directing the whole thing.
Today, we're here to share some casting updates on this one, because both
Taylor Schilling (from “Mercy”) and
Zac Efron are involved in the story that:
“…follows Efron's character of a soldier who has survived three tours of duty in Iraq and attributes his good luck to a photograph he carried of a woman, portrayed by Schilling, whom he doesn't even know.
When he returns to the States, he will seek out the girl and later they develop a relationship.”
At this moment we must admit that Efron and Schilling look just perfect for this kind of story, although another young stars, including
Abbie Cornish and
Kate Cassidy, were after the leading female role as well.
Filming of The Lucky One will start this fall and
Douglas McGrath and
Will Fetters are tapped to write the script.
Warner Bros.Pictures has picked up the distribution right for
The Lucky One which could arrive in theaters in 2011.
