Lionsgate has released a new poster for The Hunger Games, the Gary Ross-directed adaptation of the first of a trilogy of Suzanne Collins's young-adult novels,
The film's heroine, Katniss Everdeen, portrayed by “X-Men: First Class” and “Winter's Bone” actress Jennifer Lawrence, is a teenager who volunteers to take her younger sister's place in a cruel competition of children forced to fight to the death for the amusement of the wealthy and the political gain of the powerful.
The rest of the cast includes Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Isabelle Fuhrman, Amandla Stenberg and Donald Sutherland.
